I’m Mal.

Finally, Time to go.

I’m not here to tell you how to backpack Europe on €10 a day.
I’m here because I spent 40 years in marketing, 30 of them dreaming of trips I was too busy to take.
Now I’m 72, and I take the trips.

This blog is what happens when experience meets freedom.
No filters. No “wanderlust” clichés. Just one man, his camera, and the places he always wanted to see.

Mission Statement

This blog is for travelers who want more than a checklist.

I dig into local markets, not tourist traps. I find the coffee shops where locals actually drink coffee. I share the mistakes so you don’t make them.

Weekend trip or month-long journey—if you travel curious, you’re in the right place.

My Favorite Trips

  • Hagen, Germany – September 2024 – Found the best bratwurst of my life at a gas station. No regrets.

  • Aurora, Colorado – December 2021 – Went for a wedding, stayed for the quiet snow-covered mornings.

  • Omsk, Russia – February 2020 – *-30°C taught me what “layering” really means.*
